BUTONG GROUP Shares Surge Over 6% in Early Trading on Strategic Partnership Announcement

BUTONG GROUP (06090) saw its shares rise more than 6% in early trading. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 5.65%, trading at HK$35.16 with a turnover of HK$20.2172 million.

The company announced that on May 21, 2026, it entered into a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Cyannova Capital (Cyannova). According to the agreement, the two parties intend to establish a strategic partnership based on principles of equality and mutual benefit.

Potential areas of cooperation include, among others, joint investments in selected industry projects, collaboration in project discovery and resource integration, and sharing market intelligence and industry research, subject to compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Under the framework agreement, Cyannova has committed to making a strategic investment in the company within one year from the agreement date. The investment, totaling no less than US$20 million, will be executed through acquisitions of the company's shares on the secondary market, in compliance with applicable regulations. This investment is expected to be conducted via open market transactions and is not anticipated to result in any change of control of the company.

The board of directors believes that entering into this strategic cooperation framework agreement will enable the company to leverage Cyannova's strategic capital and industry investments across North America, Europe, and Asia. This collaboration is expected to assist the group in accessing investment opportunities and industry resources, providing support for its long-term strategic development. Cyannova's strategic investment also demonstrates its confidence in the company's business prospects.
