AMD Unveils Nine New AI-Powered Processors with 192GB Memory Support for On-Device 300B Models

On the evening of September 14, Advanced Micro Devices introduced its new Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 series processors tailored for the Chinese market, collaborating with partners like Lenovo, FusionXtec, and Minisforum to showcase nine new devices built around the flagship Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 model. These systems, leveraging native Windows and Linux ecosystems, are designed to power the next generation of agentic PCs.

The Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 series stands out as an x86 client processor capable of running AI models with up to 300 billion parameters locally, integrating AI, graphics, and computing into a single chip for professional workloads in agentic PCs and workstation-class systems. Compared to its predecessor, this series expands unified memory support from 128GB to 192GB, while model parameter capacity grows from 200B to 300B, enabling seamless execution of cloud-tier frontier models without external dependencies.

The flagship AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor features 16 cores and 32 threads, with a maximum boost clock speed of up to 5.2GHz. It integrates an AMD Radeon 8065S GPU with 40 compute units, alongside an NPU built on AMD XDNA 2 architecture, delivering up to 55 TOPS of AI performance. This tri-core heterogeneous computing capability—spanning CPU, GPU, and NPU—supports a configurable thermal design power (cTDP) ranging from 45 to 120 watts, accommodating various system form factors from compact desktops to mobile and desktop workstations, offering users a versatile array of local compute options.

With support for up to 192GB of unified memory, of which 160GB can be allocated as video memory, the Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 series provides expansive local memory space for large model inference, complex agentic workflows, real-time rendering, simulation, content creation, and data-intensive tasks. This enables handling visual computing and running sophisticated, concurrent agentic AI workflows on a single system, reducing reliance on discrete GPUs or cloud computing in relevant scenarios while keeping sensitive data more securely on-site.

To date, AMD and its partners have launched nine products powered by the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, including Lenovo ThinkCentre X Ultra, FusionXtec FusionXpark M series, Minisforum MS-S1 MAX-P495, GEMOPC EVO X5 Pro, Emdoor AGH27, Colorful Chuang Mini Pro, Amaic F9A, and Liulian AXB35-03-H13-YC and AXB88P-02-H07-SZ. The diverse product lineup underscores ongoing innovation in local large models, AI development, education and research, content creation, and professional workloads. Additionally, over 20 new products based on the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 are expected to hit the market in the near future.

As the industry accelerates into the era of agentic AI, moving from cloud to edge and personal devices, AMD leverages its Ryzen AI Max series processors as a foundational local computing platform, delivering high-performance heterogeneous compute, large-capacity unified memory, and an open software ecosystem with greater efficiency, lower latency, and enhanced privacy for on-device agentic AI. Ji Zhaohui, AMD's Vice President of Marketing for Greater China, noted: "AI is reshaping industries, and agentic AI serves as a productivity multiplier—an accelerator driving 'AI+ across all sectors' into the fast lane.
