Meituan Travel has recently upgraded its small group tour service guarantees by launching the "Meituan Premium" program, designed to help users identify high-value, reliable, and well-guaranteed in-depth travel routes from a vast selection of small group tour products, thereby enhancing the quality and efficiency of travel services.
The first batch of "Meituan Premium" small group tour routes has begun pilot operations in popular destinations including Yunnan, Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, and Chongqing.
According to Meituan Travel data, in domestic travel scenarios, users under 30 years old account for 44% of travelers, with young consumers willing to travel farther and explore more deeply. Among these, demand for "medium and long-distance travel" covering distances over 300 kilometers has grown by more than 15%. In the top 20 cities with the fastest growth in out-of-town visitors, niche destinations account for 80%.
Meanwhile, small group tours have become a new choice for in-depth travel due to their personalized and diverse nature, flexibility, and quality experience characteristics. Meituan Travel data shows that in the first half of this year, search volume for "small group tours" increased by more than 30% year-over-year, indicating rapid demand growth.
Currently, Meituan Travel's small group tour products limit participation to 10 people or fewer, primarily use flexible and mobile small vehicles for transportation, and are led by professional guides to provide in-depth experiences of scenic routes and cultural history.
Products selected for the "Meituan Premium" service guarantee program offer high cost-effectiveness while supporting "worry-free cancellation" and "compensation for issues." All products can be cancelled or modified free of charge before 6 PM one day prior to departure, with dedicated customer service guaranteeing responses to user inquiries within 30 seconds. If forced consumption or mandatory shopping occurs during the trip, Meituan Travel will initiate trust-based compensation without waiting for merchant confirmation, providing coverage for consumers.
