Data from the Ministry of Commerce indicates that China's e-commerce sector has achieved stable and innovative development during the January-to-July period this year.

The integration of online and offline channels has been unlocking consumer potential, with nationwide online retail sales of goods and services growing 4.8% year-on-year in the first seven months. This segment contributed more than half of the overall growth in social retail sales of goods and services.

Online platforms have expanded the scope of product consumption while enhancing the convenience of service consumption. According to key monitoring by the Ministry of Commerce on major e-commerce platforms, sales in online tourism and online lifestyle services surged 24.9% and 16.3%, respectively, during this period.

E-commerce is also playing a pivotal role in driving industrial transformation and upgrading. Commercial big data monitoring reveals that online retail sales of agricultural products and rural goods rose 12.8% and 5%, respectively, in the first seven months.

Local governments have been fostering the "e-commerce plus industrial belt" model, organizing platforms to connect with specialized industrial clusters. As a result, e-commerce transaction values in the industrial products and chemical products sectors increased by 1.4% and 1.2%, respectively, during the same period.

Additionally, online shopping and digital content consumption have fueled rapid growth across related service industries.
