China's total social logistics value reached 368.2 trillion yuan in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.1% when calculated using comparable prices. Data released on February 10 shows that logistics demand in China continued to expand steadily throughout the year, with an optimized structure. At the same time, logistics supply actively adapted to the development of new productive forces and industrial transformation, leading to continuous improvements in logistics efficiency within economic operations. The ratio of total social logistics costs to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) fell to a record low, highlighting the increasingly strong supportive role of logistics in economic development.

In 2025, the logistics value of industrial products grew by 5.3% year-on-year, contributing 82% to the growth of the total social logistics value and solidifying its core pillar status. Driven by the upgrading of the industrial economic structure, logistics demand from the equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing sectors emerged as key growth drivers.

The logistics value for goods related to households and individuals increased by 5.1% year-on-year in 2025, maintaining a positive growth trend throughout the year. In specific segments, increasingly diverse consumption scenarios continued to drive the penetration of online consumption. Online retail sales of physical goods grew by 5.2% for the year, accounting for 26.1% of total retail sales of consumer goods, indicating a steady release of potential logistics demand across various consumer sectors.

Simultaneously, logistics demand related to emerging industries saw significant growth. In 2025, logistics volume for industrial robots increased by 28% year-on-year, while logistics volume for new energy vehicles rose by 25.1%. Logistics demand for green products, such as wind turbine units, lithium carbonate, and carbon fiber, grew by over 40% year-on-year.

Analysis indicates that 2025 marked the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan period. As a critical component of the real economy, the logistics sector, supported by targeted policies and technological innovation, maintained a development pattern characterized by steady progress and simultaneous improvements in quality and efficiency. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China's advantages—including its vast market and strong economic resilience—remain unchanged. With coordinated efforts between incremental and existing policies, the logistics sector possesses a solid foundation for stable operation.
