China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd. (01055) Reports 4.57% YoY Increase in June Passenger Capacity

China Southern Airlines Company Limited (01055) announced its June 2025 operational results, revealing a 4.57% year-on-year growth in passenger capacity measured by Available Seat Kilometers (ASK). Regionally, domestic routes increased by 1.41%, regional routes by 4.38%, and international routes surged 14.60%. Passenger traffic, gauged by Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK), climbed 6.69% overall, with domestic routes up 3.60%, regional routes rising 9.38%, and international routes jumping 16.56%. The overall passenger load factor reached 85.18%, marking a 1.69 percentage point improvement year-on-year. Specifically, domestic load factor rose by 1.81 percentage points, regional by 3.77 percentage points, and international by 1.41 percentage points.

On the cargo front, freight capacity measured by Available Freight Ton Kilometers (AFTK) grew 7.04% year-on-year in June. Revenue Freight Ton Kilometers (RFTK) increased 6.51%, while the cargo load factor stood at 55.02%, reflecting a slight 0.27 percentage point dip compared to the same period last year.

The airline group introduced new key routes during the month: Shenyang-Yinchuan-Shenyang (operating three flights weekly) and Shenyang-Hohhot-Shenyang (operating seven flights weekly). Fleet expansion continued with the addition of four new aircraft—comprising one A321NEO and three B737-8 models—while one B737-800 aircraft was retired. As of the end of June 2025, China Southern Airlines maintained a total operating fleet of 943 transport aircraft.
