South Korean lawmaker Kim Young-bae has cautioned that escalating tensions between the U.S., Israel, and Iran could disrupt the supply of critical materials used in semiconductor manufacturing. He noted that prolonged conflict risks driving up energy costs and consumer prices, adding that he has held discussions with executives from companies such as Samsung Electronics and industry associations. The warning comes as chipmakers face significant supply constraints, fueled by soaring demand for semiconductors from AI data centers, which has tightened availability for industries ranging from smartphones and laptops to automobiles.
