Regulators Hold Urgent Closed-Door Meeting on Emotional Robots as UBTECH ROBOTICS Stock Plunges 32% This Year

Regulatory authorities recently convened an urgent closed-door meeting to address key issues within the emotional robotics sector, according to reliable industry sources.

The meeting, held last week, brought together leading companies to deliberate on three major concerns: data security, network security, and the establishment of standards for emotional interaction.

In a stark contrast to these regulatory discussions, market enthusiasm for such robots has reached an unexpectedly frenzied level.

The UBTECH ROBOTICS (HKEX: 09880) U1 ultra-bionic humanoid robot achieved instant success upon its launch, selling over 10,000 units in a single day.

With a starting price of 119,800 yuan per unit and a top-tier configuration reaching up to 990,000 yuan, this sales wave alone is estimated to have generated nearly 2.2 billion yuan in revenue.

This figure reportedly surpasses the company's total revenue for the entirety of the previous year.

Despite this red-hot performance in the product market and its status as a leading stock in the humanoid robot segment, UBTECH ROBOTICS shares have faced a severe downturn.

As of the close on the 17th, the stock was priced at 85.7 Hong Kong dollars, marking a significant decline of 32% since the beginning of the year.
