The Secretariat of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) recently conducted promotion activities for the 23rd edition of the expo in countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand. The CAEXPO Secretariat organized 15 Chinese companies to set up a special exhibition area at the 2026 Indonesia International Food and Beverage Trade Exhibition from May 7th to 10th. The area showcased high-quality Chinese products and a complete upstream and downstream industry supply chain, attracting numerous professional buyers for procurement discussions.

During the promotion, Liang Yiguang, Deputy Secretary-General of the CAEXPO Secretariat, introduced that the 23rd CAEXPO, scheduled for September 17th to 21st, will closely align with the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0. It will feature dedicated exhibition zones for the digital economy and green, low-carbon initiatives, and will establish a special artificial intelligence exhibition area. With the Pinglu Canal, a key project of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, set to open for navigation soon, the expo will have a dedicated Pinglu Canal zone. This zone will display a scale model of the canal and its smart systems, highlighting the benefits it brings to enterprises in terms of China-ASEAN economic, trade, logistics, and industrial collaborative development. This edition of CAEXPO will also establish platforms for "Shopping in China," "Exports to China," and "Investing in China."

Thirapon Phanachet, Assistant Director-General of Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion, stated that Thailand will organize over 100 companies to participate in the 23rd CAEXPO this year. The focus will be on showcasing food and beverages, health and beauty products, fashion and lifestyle goods, home and creative economy products, as well as the unique culture and geographical indication products from twenty provinces in Thailand's northeastern region. Efforts will also be made to promote the participation of high-tech institutions and companies, such as the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency.

Li Shaozhu, Senior Vice Chairman of Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group, noted that CP Group has been organizing companies to participate in CAEXPO since its first edition. This year, the group plans to leverage resources from projects like the China-ASEAN AI Application Cooperation Center and the Pinglu Canal to deepen cooperation in areas including artificial intelligence, green manufacturing, cultural tourism, and urban renewal.

Prior promotion roadshows for CAEXPO were held in Vietnam. Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of Vietnam's Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, expressed that the agency will collaborate with the CAEXPO Secretariat to organize effective trade matching activities during the expo period.
