On the Middle East situation, the US Central Command issued a statement on June 10 local time, indicating that its forces began conducting what it termed "defensive strikes" against multiple targets in Iran starting at 5:15 PM Eastern Time on the 10th. The statement claimed these strikes were in response to Iran's "unprovoked and ongoing" attacks.

Separately, a US official stated that all targeted locations were in southern Iran, including air defense systems, radar installations, and drone command and control units.

Reports citing local residents indicate that explosions were heard around Minab and Sirik in southern Iran in the early hours of the 11th. Around 1:00 AM, explosions were also reported in the port city of Bandar Abbas.

Additional local sources reported that military strikes and subsequent explosions occurred on Iran's Qeshm and Hengam islands.

On the 11th, Iranian sources reported that a radar installation at the US military base in Harir, northern Iraq, was attacked.

Previously, Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi, responding to US threats of strikes on Iranian infrastructure, stated that Iran would respond to any threat from the US with a reaction "more severe, powerful, and devastating than before."

On the 10th, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that Israel's military actions against Iran are "far from over," and that the Israeli Defense Forces are prepared to deliver a "powerful strike" on Iran if necessary.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the Central Command of the Iranian Armed Forces' Khatam al-Anbiya issued a statement in the early hours of the 11th, declaring the Strait closed to all types of vessels, including oil tankers and commercial ships, effective immediately, due to the volatile security situation in the region. The statement warned that any vessel attempting passage would be attacked.

Earlier reports indicated that Iran launched strikes on US vessels in the Strait of Hormuz on the 11th.

On the 11th, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy stated that two vessels attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz illegally were targeted.

It was reported that on June 10, former US President Donald Trump claimed the US military had "covertly" assisted over 200 commercial vessels in transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump stated on social media that he ordered a secret mission last month to support oil tankers and other commercial ships passing through the Strait. He claimed the operation has facilitated the "safe passage of over 200 commercial ships and more than 100 million barrels of oil into the open market" through the Strait. He added that control of the Strait of Hormuz "belongs to the United States, not Iran."
