SpeQtral and Addvalue sign MoU to develop quantum-secure satellite services

SpeQtral Pte. Ltd. and Addvalue Innovation Pte. Ltd. announced on Feb, 2 2026 the signing of a memorandum of understanding to jointly explore an integrated satellite-based quantum key distribution solution.

The partners will assess quantum-communication satellite constellation design and concepts of operation to deliver service-oriented QKD with real-time tasking and key establishment. The planned offering merges SpeQtral’s space-to-ground quantum communications expertise—demonstrated by its 12U CubeSat “SpeQtre” launched in Nov, 2025—with Addvalue’s Inter-Satellite Data Relay System, which provides always-on Low Earth Orbit connectivity through geostationary links at data rates above 200 kbps.

Both companies will also pursue joint go-to-market strategies and co-development initiatives to speed the adoption of quantum-secure satellite services for next-generation networks.

The collaboration aligns with Singapore’s efforts to strengthen its space sector and advance quantum-secure communications capabilities.
