South Manganese Investment Limited has issued a positive profit alert alongside notice of a board meeting set for 28 August 2026 in Hong Kong. Directors will review the unaudited results for the six months ended 30 June 2026 (1H2026) and consider an interim dividend declaration.
Based on preliminary management accounts, profit attributable to shareholders for 1H2026 is projected at not less than HK$350.00 million, more than doubling the HK$172.70 million recorded in the prior-year period (1H2025). The implied year-on-year increase is at least 102.7%.
Management attributes the sharp earnings improvement to:
1. Stronger performance from the electrolytic manganese metal (EMM) and alloying materials segment, driven by higher average selling prices of EMM products during 1H2026 versus 1H2025. 2. Improved results from the manganese mining segment, supported by increased average selling prices for manganese ores over the same period.
The figures are unaudited and subject to review by the company’s auditor and audit committee. The full interim results are scheduled for release on 28 August 2026. Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares.
