Iran Maintains High Crude Loading Volumes Amid Regional Tensions

According to Homayoun Falakshahi, head of crude analysis at Kpler, Iran's domestic crude loading activities remain elevated despite recent attacks that have severely disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and forced some Middle Eastern oil producers to reduce output. Falakshahi stated that from Monday to Thursday, Iran loaded at least 8 million barrels of oil onto four large tankers from its Khargh terminal. Based on Kpler data, the daily loading rate of 2 million barrels matches the level seen in February and is also consistent with the average daily rate projected for the full year of 2025. However, Falakshahi added that it remains unclear whether these Iranian tankers have already transited the strait.
