Millennium & Copthorne Hotels New Zealand posts 74% jump in half-year profit, lifted by hotel rebound

Millennium & Copthorne Hotels New Zealand Limited reported that net profit attributable to shareholders for the six months ended Jun, 30 2026 rose 74.0 % year on year to about 11.6 million Singapore dollars, according to its unaudited results released on Aug, 11 2026.

Group revenue increased 12.0 % to approximately 88.8 million Singapore dollars, driven by a 15.3 % rise in New Zealand hotel revenue to 73.9 million Singapore dollars. Average occupancy across the hotel portfolio improved to 76.8 % from 70.0 % a year earlier.

Operating profit before finance items grew 24.7 % to 14.9 million Singapore dollars, while profit before tax jumped 58.2 % to 17.9 million Singapore dollars. A 1.3 million Singapore dollar contribution from the group’s 50 % stake in the Sofitel Brisbane Central joint venture also supported earnings.

At end-June, total equity stood at 579.6 million Singapore dollars, up from 567.2 million Singapore dollars at Dec, 31 2025. Net tangible assets per share rose to 3.66 Singapore dollars from 3.46 Singapore dollars. Interest-bearing bank borrowings were fully repaid during the half, leaving the group debt-free at the reporting date.

No interim dividend was declared.

Looking ahead, the company said it will continue to invest in hotel refurbishments, assess sales of surplus land and buildings, and monitor market conditions for its residential development arm CDL Investments New Zealand.
