China's Foreign Trade Exceeds 30 Trillion Yuan in First Seven Months, EV Exports Soar Over 71%

Data from the General Administration of Customs, released on August 7, shows that in the first seven months of 2026, China's foreign trade in goods maintained a strong growth momentum, reaching a total value of 30.13 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.3%.

Specifically, exports totaled 17.44 trillion yuan, up 14%, while imports reached 12.69 trillion yuan, up 22%, with import growth continuing to outpace exports.

In the first seven months of this year, China exported 11.12 trillion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, a rise of 21.2%, accounting for 63.8% of total exports, an increase of 3.8 percentage points from the same period last year.

Among these, green and low-carbon products such as electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and wind turbines saw growth of 71.2%, 35.8%, and 34.8%, respectively. Exports of 3D printers, industrial robots, and ships reached 11.2 billion yuan, 7.34 billion yuan, and 268.14 billion yuan, up by 1.1 times, 13.2%, and 32.7%, respectively.

China has become one of the fastest-growing nations in global innovation. The deep integration of technological and industrial innovation is continuously transforming into new competitive advantages and growth drivers for foreign trade.

In July, exports of high-tech products surged by over 50%, contributing nearly 60% of the overall export increase. Exports of green and low-carbon products like electric vehicles and lithium batteries have maintained double-digit growth for 17 consecutive months.
