The report indicates that travel activity grew significantly during this year's May Day holiday period, driven by the combination of spring break and the practice of taking extra leave days. Trips longer than 300 kilometers accounted for 46% of all travel orders. The top ten most popular destination cities were Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Nanjing. Meanwhile, AI tools have become important assistants for many travelers planning their itineraries. According to MEITUAN's report, inquiries to its AI assistant "Xiao Tuan" during the holiday increased by 89% compared to the Spring Festival period, with an average message completion rate of 61%. Inquiries were most concentrated around outdoor, cultural, and experiential destinations.
