The Japanese stock market advanced in early trading, following a rally in US tech shares overnight.
Semiconductor companies led the upward momentum. Kioxia climbed 3.0%, while Lasertec surged 4.7%. The US dollar traded at 157.40 yen, compared to 156.63 yen at the close of Tokyo markets on Monday.
Investors are closely monitoring developments in the Middle East after Iran stated on Monday that it is not currently engaged in any negotiations with the United States.
Corporate quarterly earnings reports also remain a key focus for market participants. The Nikkei index rose 0.4%, settling at 63,987.36 points.
