UNISOUND (09678) has announced its plan to establish Hangzhou as its R&D hub for the Yangtze River Delta region, focusing on constructing the UNISOUND AI Chip Innovation Headquarters R&D building. This initiative is aimed at building a large-scale, high-performance intelligent computing cluster to enhance the underlying computing infrastructure for large model services, supporting the company's core strategy of "strengthening foundational models and deepening applications."
This computing cluster is expected to provide long-term support for the full-cycle operation of the company's self-developed large model training and inference, effectively reducing computing operational costs and driving continuous model iteration and Token commercialization with higher input-output efficiency. Upon completion of the UNISOUND AI Chip Innovation Headquarters project, the company anticipates broadening its commercial revenue streams while optimizing overall computing expenditure, thereby enhancing its comprehensive profitability from both ends.
To facilitate the successful construction of the UNISOUND AI Chip Innovation Headquarters, the Board announced that on June 30, 2026, the company's indirect subsidiary, UNISOUND Artificial Intelligence (as the employer), entered into a General Contracting Engineering Contract with Double Building Construction (as the general contractor), effective from the same date.
Under this contract, Double Building Construction has agreed to provide construction engineering services for the UNISOUND AI Chip Innovation Headquarters project, with a contracted price of RMB 253 million. The scope of work entails Double Building Construction being responsible for the construction engineering of the project.
The total construction area of the UNISOUND AI Chip Innovation Headquarters project is approximately 48,000 square meters, comprising Building 1, Building 2, their basements, power distribution rooms, and other structures.
The construction scope undertaken by Double Building Construction for this project includes, but is not limited to: site fencing, earthworks, foundation pit dewatering, drainage and support, civil air defense engineering, underground and above-ground main structures, masonry, mechanical and electrical installation, interior and exterior rough finishing, roofing, waterproofing, railings, foundation works for facilities and equipment, external enclosures, on-site temporary facilities, related inspections, testing, commissioning, and other necessary tasks.
Double Building Construction is required to provide all work necessary for the completion of the project, including design detailing, supply, installation, coordination, management, testing and commissioning, internal quality inspection, acceptance, and defect rectification.
The announcement further stated that (i) as a leading enterprise in the artificial intelligence industry chain in Fuyang District, the construction of the UNISOUND AI Chip Innovation Headquarters will further enhance the group's ability to attract and drive upstream and downstream enterprises; (ii) Hangzhou Fuchun Bay New City has already gathered high-level research platforms such as the Hangzhou Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics and the Westlake University Institute of Optoelectronics, and the planning for the extension of Hangzhou Metro Line 6 is steadily progressing. The establishment of the UNISOUND AI Chip Innovation Headquarters project will facilitate the group's full integration into the regional innovation ecosystem, reduce R&D and talent acquisition costs, and allow it to benefit from local government policy support in industry, taxation, and talent; (iii) As a flagship project for the group in the Yangtze River Delta region, the AI Chip Innovation Headquarters will serve as a significant showcase for the group's technical capabilities and industrial influence. The two modern R&D buildings of the UNISOUND AI Chip Innovation Headquarters, upon completion, are also set to become regional technology landmarks, contributing to the enhancement of the group's brand image within the industry.
