As the Spring Festival approaches, the Market Supervision Administration of Linsi County in Inner Mongolia has recently launched a campaign to identify and address potential quality and safety risks in medical devices. The initiative aims to maintain market order and ensure public safety in the use of medical equipment. Inspections have focused on county-level medical institutions, dental clinics, and businesses specializing in or concurrently operating medical device sales. Key products under scrutiny include medical masks, disposable medical devices, in vitro diagnostic reagents, and dental medical equipment. Authorities are paying close attention to whether procurement channels are compliant, whether legal qualifications and invoices from suppliers are retained, whether purchase inspection record systems are established and implemented, and whether unregistered, unapproved, uncertified, expired, invalid, or obsolete medical devices are being sold or used. Inspectors also evaluated whether storage conditions meet manual requirements, whether low-temperature reagents are stored separately from room-temperature reagents, whether business premises are effectively separated from living areas, and whether fire safety management in warehouses poses any risks. So far, 45 medical device businesses and user facilities have been inspected, resulting in one regulatory violation case, one issue reported to the medical insurance bureau, and two potential safety hazards identified. Moving forward, the Linsi County Market Supervision Administration will continue to prevent and mitigate safety risks, identify vulnerabilities, and address shortcomings to standardize the operation and use of medical devices, thereby creating a safe and reliable consumer environment for the holiday season.
