Motorists are being alerted that a fresh adjustment to domestic refined oil prices is set to take effect at 24:00 tomorrow (September 11th). Industry forecasts indicate a substantial increase, meaning that filling a 50-liter tank of gasoline could cost drivers an additional 14 to 16 yuan.

Based on projections for the ninth working day on September 10th, institutions suggest that when the price adjustment window opens at 24:00 on September 11th, gasoline and diesel prices are expected to rise by roughly 360 yuan per tonne. This translates to an increase of approximately 0.28 to 0.32 yuan per liter. For a standard 50-liter fill-up, this would result in an extra expense of 14 to 16 yuan.

Overnight, international oil prices climbed sharply, even as the three major U.S. stock indices closed lower in trading on September 9th. U.S. crude settled at $96.05 per barrel, marking a 3.25% gain, while Brent crude closed at $101.21 per barrel, up 3.36%. Both Brent and WTI futures settlements reached their highest level since May 22nd.

This upcoming hike follows the last price adjustment, which was the third increase in the second half of the year, adding 375 yuan per tonne. As a result, in most regions for September, the price of 92-octane gasoline has already approached 8.10 yuan per liter, 95-octane gasoline has surpassed 8.56 yuan per liter in many places, and 0-diesel is now around 7.73 yuan per liter.
