The annual JD.com "618" mid-year shopping festival is drawing to a close. Data released by JD.com shows that consumers in Guizhou province actively participated this year, demonstrating strong consumption potential and distinct regional spending characteristics, with the province ranking 6th nationally in terms of average order value. Leveraging its advantages as a core city, the provincial capital Guiyang emerged as the city with the strongest purchasing power within the province. Tongren city showed robust momentum in consumption growth, becoming the city with the highest purchasing power growth rate in Guizhou.

During this year's "618" period, shopping preferences varied significantly among different age groups in Guizhou. The "post-00s" generation (Gen Z) showed a strong enthusiasm for trendy digital products while also placing importance on the ritual aspect of consumption. Their top three preferred categories were tablet computers, smart wristbands, and express flower gifts. The "post-80s" generation focused more on shopping for their babies, with their top three categories being baby bottles/nipples, rice cereal/porridge/grain rice, and toddler pull-up pants. The "silver-haired" generation (older adults) prioritized food, drink, and daily necessities but are also keeping up with trends, favoring apples, fruit knives/peelers, and baseball caps as their top three categories.
