CHK OIL Flags Wider Interim Loss on Higher Impairment Provisions

CHK OIL (00632) has issued a profit warning, projecting a net loss attributable to shareholders of approximately HK$15.4 million for the six months ending 30 June 2026.

According to the company's announcement, based on a preliminary assessment of the group's unaudited consolidated management accounts for the first half of 2026, the expected loss represents a rise from the roughly HK$11.1 million loss recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The anticipated increase in the loss is primarily driven by a roughly HK$3.9 million rise in impairment provisions for trade and other receivables, attributed to the aging of these receivables, which correspondingly elevates the expected credit loss amounts.
