Mark Zuckerberg Encourages Executives to Join Him in Mixed Martial Arts Training

Mark Zuckerberg has become deeply invested in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training, going so far as to invite his company's executive team to participate in training sessions alongside him.

This intriguing revelation comes from Nick Clegg's upcoming book. Clegg, who previously served as Global Affairs President at Meta, shares this story in his publication. Fast Company magazine gave the book a lukewarm review, describing the writing as "bland," but noted it still contains some "surprising anecdotes," including the account of Clegg sparring with his deputy Joel Kaplan.

According to the anecdote Clegg recounts in his book, Zuckerberg once gathered some of Meta's most senior executives during a management retreat to practice mixed martial arts with him. Kaplan, who took over Clegg's Global Affairs President role earlier this year after Clegg stepped down, employed a "mount" technique during their sparring session. Clegg described this maneuver as uncomfortably close, calling it "too intimate and uncomfortable."

A basic understanding of the MMA "mount" technique reveals that such a move would indeed be overly intimate in a corporate setting.
