KINGSOFT (03888) has published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report, detailing measurable progress in emission cuts, energy efficiency, workforce development and community investment.
Environmental Performance and Targets • Total Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse-gas emissions reached 14,410 tCO₂e, up 21.3% year on year, reflecting the first-time inclusion of the new Wuhan campus. • Scope 1 emissions were 594 tCO₂e, largely from natural-gas usage; Scope 2 emissions, driven by purchased electricity, amounted to 13,816 tCO₂e. • Group electricity-sourced emissions intensity in office buildings fell to 0.04 tCO₂e per square metre, while per-capita emissions dropped to 1.48 tCO₂e. • Energy-saving initiatives trimmed per-capita power consumption at the Beijing campus by 13.19% and at the Zhuhai campus by 8.53% versus 2024, both ahead of target. • Clean-energy deployment—including solar thermal and air-source heat-pump systems—replaced an estimated 182.50 MWh of grid power. • All servers procured by game subsidiary Seasun Holdings now carry green-product certificates; 100 % of hazardous electronic waste from leased data centres is handled by qualified recyclers.
Climate Strategy • The board-level ESG Committee oversees climate governance, supported by a cross-functional carbon-emissions working group. • Scenario analysis identified acute risks from typhoons and floods at Zhuhai and Wuhan campuses; transition risks centre on higher capital spending for energy-efficient equipment. • New environmental goals for 2026 include a further 5 % reduction in per-capita power use at Zhuhai, keeping Wuhan data-centre PUE below 1.37 and installing an additional 200 kW of rooftop solar.
Human Capital Development • Total headcount rose to 9,767, with women representing 26.87 % of management. • Average training hours per full-time employee climbed to 45.68; 100 % of staff received training. • A dual-track promotion system and a “3P” talent-assessment model underpin succession planning, complemented by partnerships with universities and targeted programmes such as the “Spruce” and “Eagle” initiatives. • Workplace safety saw zero fatalities; lost-time injuries totalled 92.75 days, primarily from commuting incidents. All office campuses underwent safety drills, AED deployment and mental-health workshops.
Community Investment • The Beijing Kingsoft Foundation disbursed RMB 7.02 million in 2025, benefiting around 46,000 individuals and attaining 4A social-organisation status. • Flagship education projects include the “Little Golden Carp Science Course,” now active in 31 rural schools and serving more than 12,000 pupils, and university scholarship programmes covering 16 institutions. • Rural revitalisation efforts delivered RMB 1.75 million in infrastructure upgrades across 11 districts and counties and mobilised employee volunteers for book drives, charity sales and disaster-relief teaching support in Gansu and Qinghai.
Governance Enhancements • Twenty-seven internal ESG and project-management policies were updated; the board reviewed climate targets and linked ESG performance to senior-management remuneration. • Business-ethics audits now cover 100 % of operations, with mandatory integrity pledges for all suppliers selected via tender.
Looking Ahead KINGSOFT plans to deepen renewable-energy deployment, expand Scope 3 emissions tracking and roll out a digital ESG information platform to meet tightened Hong Kong disclosure standards in 2026.
