The Chaka Scenic Area in Wulan County, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, has seen the orderly installation of automated medical device vending machines in its vicinity, achieving significant phased results. Since the pilot program was initiated earlier this year, the Haixi Prefecture Market Regulation Bureau has consistently adhered to the principles of "safety first, convenience for the people, and standardization as the priority," meticulously defining the pilot scope and prioritizing the installation of unmanned vending machines in areas with high public demand for medical supplies, such as scenic spots, commercial districts, and hotels. Concurrently, a stringent access and review mechanism has been established, specifying that only Class I and certain registered Class II medical devices—such as medical masks, adhesive bandages, bandages, and portable oxygen cylinders—are permitted for sale, with comprehensive checks conducted on the qualifications of operating enterprises, product quality, and storage conditions throughout the entire process. To date, nine unmanned vending machines have been deployed around the Chaka Scenic Area within the jurisdiction, cumulatively selling over 5,500 medical devices and significantly enhancing the convenience of public access to medical supplies. In the next phase, the Haixi Prefecture Market Regulation Bureau will summarize the pilot program's experience, optimize regulatory measures, gradually expand the coverage of the pilot, and promote the standardized and regularized development of the unmanned medical device vending model to create a more convenient and safe medical device consumption environment for tourists.
