United Microelectronics (UMC) fell 3.3% in late trading on Wednesday, despite reporting strong Q3 2025 earnings. The company posted a net profit attributable to shareholders of NT$14.982 billion, up 68.29% quarter-over-quarter and 3.52% year-over-year. Earnings per share (EPS) reached NT$1.2, marking a two-year high.
However, for the first three quarters of 2025, UMC's net profit attributable to shareholders totaled NT$31.661 billion, down 18.22% year-over-year, with EPS at NT$2.54—still the lowest for the same period in five years.
