HSBC Holdings plc (HSBC) disclosed that on 21 September 2026 it repurchased a total of 590,000 ordinary shares for cancellation under the share-buyback programme launched on 5 August 2026. The transactions were executed through BNP Paribas Financial Markets SNC across both UK trading venues and The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (HKEX).

Key details of the latest repurchase • UK venues: 10,000 shares were acquired at prices ranging between £15.3120 and £15.4640, with a volume-weighted average price (VWAP) of £15.3842. • HKEX: 580,000 shares were bought at prices between HK$159.9000 and HK$161.6000, delivering a VWAP of HK$160.7608.

Progress of the 2026 buy-back • Since commencement on 5 August 2026, HSBC has retired 40.20 million shares for a total consideration of US$827.10 million. • Following the cancellation of shares repurchased on UK venues, the company’s issued ordinary share capital and voting rights stand at 17.15 billion shares. • Shares acquired on HKEX will be cancelled after local regulatory processing, with a subsequent update on voting rights to be provided.

All UK transactions were executed as “on Exchange” market purchases under the Companies Act 2006, while HKEX trades were “on-market share buy-backs” under Hong Kong listing rules.
