TokenRhythm Secures Multi-Million Dollar Funding Round Led by HLC Fund

AI infrastructure startup TokenRhythm (基元律动) has completed a new funding round worth tens of millions of US dollars, with HLC Fund (弘晖基金) taking the lead as the primary investor. Additional participation came from Juhe Capital (聚合资本) and Shangshi Capital (尚势资本), among other institutional backers. This latest injection of capital follows the company's earlier seed round, which was led by Granite Asia with involvement from CDH VGC, Yuanjing Capital (元璟资本), and Infinite Fund (无限基金).

Alongside the funding announcement, TokenRhythm has officially launched the public beta of its TokenRhythm API platform. The service is designed as a one-stop multi-model API gateway tailored for the Chinese market, positioning itself as a domestic counterpart to OpenRouter. Developers gain access to a wide array of models through a single API key, eliminating the need for separate account registrations, interface adaptations, or fragmented billing management. The platform supports the mainstream protocols of OpenAI and Claude, while also delivering capabilities such as model discovery, intelligent filtering, unified billing, usage tracking, and call logging. In essence, it establishes a unified and stable access point between model and inference providers on one side, and AI applications on the other.

The company reports that TokenRhythm API has already amassed 54,000 registered users, processing over 500 billion tokens on a single day. It is also advancing proof-of-concept projects with several leading enterprises. However, TokenRhythm has no intention of stopping at the model API aggregation layer. As the number of large language models continues to expand, with growing disparities in capabilities, pricing, and suitable use cases, AI applications are shifting away from simply selecting a single most powerful model toward orchestrating different models for distinct tasks.

TokenRhythm is betting on the Routing Harness infrastructure that sits between models and agent applications. To this end, the company has mapped out a clear product trajectory that encompasses open-source agents, model APIs, intelligent routing, and collaborative orchestration. Its first offering, OpenSquilla, is an open-source AI agent software that supports one-click launch across multiple operating systems. It has gained significant traction in the developer community, surpassing 6,600 GitHub Stars and 170,000 clones, with actual installations exceeding 10,000 machines.

According to TokenRhythm CEO Wang Yunhe, model capability represents only one component of agent intelligence. He argues that the next phase of competition will not be defined by who owns the most powerful single model, but rather by who can better organize models, comprehend tasks, and leverage real-world feedback to continuously refine model performance. With Routing Harness at its core, TokenRhythm aims to make agents more cost-effective and user-friendly in a market where multiple models are expected to coexist over the long term.
