As the May Day holiday approaches, enameled wire manufacturers have finalized their production and holiday schedules. An investigation into the holiday production arrangements of several companies has been conducted and summarized. Details regarding the operational status and order situations of select enterprises are as follows.
With the holiday imminent, domestic enameled wire producers completed their raw material procurement this week based on order requirements. While all companies will maintain normal shipments during the break, their production plans vary. According to feedback, most firms are following past practices by continuing production without a full shutdown. However, they plan to reduce overall operating rates by scheduling equipment maintenance and servicing according to their order books.
Notably, given the current persistent weakness in industry orders, the number of companies opting for a complete production halt or adjusting output to alleviate inventory pressure has increased significantly compared to last year.
On the order front, data indicates that new orders in the enameled wire sector have declined for six consecutive weeks. Finished product inventory, previously at low levels, has gradually risen to the higher end of the range. Companies report that demand from the end-market air conditioning industry has entered an off-season earlier than usual, significantly dragging down enameled wire demand. Additionally, sustained high copper prices have further suppressed order activity. These factors, combined with the concentrated透支 of future orders in March, have collectively led to a continued slide in industry orders. Production expectations for May remain pessimistic.
