On August 26, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the "2025 5G Factory Directory," with Henan Huanghe Whirlwind Co., Ltd. from the city successfully being selected.

The "2025 5G Factory Directory" selected 560 representative and exemplary 5G factories from 48 industries nationwide, with 16 enterprises from Henan Province making the list. Huanghe Whirlwind was successfully selected based on its intelligent construction achievements in the superhard materials field, becoming the first enterprise from the city to be included in the 5G factory directory.

A 5G factory fully utilizes new-generation information and communication technologies represented by 5G to build new or renovate existing production lines, workshops, and factories. These facilities achieve extensive connectivity of production units, deep integration of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT), full utilization of data elements, and efficient empowerment through innovative applications, forming advanced manufacturing facilities.

To implement the Party Central Committee and State Council's decision on deepening the development of "5G + Industrial Internet," the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized this selection to create a batch of exemplary 5G factory benchmarks and promote the digital, networked, and intelligent transformation and upgrading of manufacturing.

Huanghe Whirlwind's successful selection marks national-level recognition for the city's efforts in promoting the integrated application of "5G + Industrial Internet" and creating digital transformation benchmarks in manufacturing. This represents another important achievement in the city's comprehensive advancement of digital transformation strategy.

Moving forward, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology will continue to prioritize digital leadership in new industrialization construction, focus on core production management aspects of manufacturing, deepen the large-scale application of 5G technology in industrial fields, and actively support and cultivate more enterprises to establish provincial-level 5G fully-connected factories and apply for national-level 5G factory directory projects. The bureau aims to fully leverage the demonstrative and leading role of benchmark enterprises to accelerate the city's manufacturing industry toward high-quality development.
