Cadillac has officially launched the XT5 PHEV, introducing two distinct trims for the Chinese market. The manufacturer's suggested retail price spans from 310,000 to 350,000 RMB, while the full-cash transaction price is set between 279,900 and 299,900 RMB. Buyers can also take advantage of a limited-time second-anniversary purchase incentive, which includes a 10,000 RMB appreciation subsidy and an additional trade-in allowance of up to 10,000 RMB, bringing the final promotional price range to 259,900 up to 279,900 RMB.

Between now and October 7th, customers placing an order for the new XT5 PHEV will unlock a total limited-time package valued at 80,000 RMB. This comprehensive bundle includes the anniversary purchase incentives, a three-year body protection plan, and three years of assisted driving coverage, among other benefits. From a styling perspective, the plug-in hybrid maintains the core design language of its gasoline counterpart, featuring a distinctive illuminated shield-shaped grille and glowing logo paired with split headlights. The roof has been revised to accommodate a LiDAR unit, with the shark-fin antenna removed, while the front bumper has been redesigned to integrate a new active air intake system.

Measuring 4,888 mm in length, 1,957 mm in width, and 1,688 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,863 mm, the vehicle is slightly lower than its fuel-powered sibling by 6 mm. Traditional door handles remain in place, accompanied by new 21-inch wheels wrapped in low-rolling-resistance tires. The rear section features a more prominent body-colored treatment with a subdued bumper, hidden exhaust outlets, and the signature seven-shaped taillights. Two fresh exterior color options have been added: Canyon Orange matte and Illusion White.

Inside, the cabin layout mirrors the fuel version while introducing two new themes, Yellowstone Dawn and Silver Screen Flow. The interior is enhanced with ambient lighting, a vehicle fragrance system, and a 33-inch 9K curved display at the center of the dashboard. The technology suite is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775P chip and integrates ByteDance's Doubao AI large model. Voice recognition has been significantly upgraded, featuring natural language comprehension - for instance, saying "I'm cold" automatically adjusts the climate control. The system can handle compound commands like "Go to the airport, and remind me to buy flowers," which simultaneously sets the navigation and creates a calendar reminder. Four independent voice zones allow all passengers to control functions independently. Apple CarPlay connectivity remains supported.

A new OMS in-cabin camera assists in monitoring children, while a five-angle sentry mode provides 360-degree surveillance with automatic recording of abnormal events and remote smartphone viewing. Comfort features include Fine Nappa semi-aniline leather seats with front heating, ventilation, lumbar support, and position memory, plus rear seat heating. The flat floor design and a shortened center console improve rear passenger space. Physical buttons and knobs are retained in the center console, complemented by a new steering wheel button layout. The redesigned center armrest area houses dual 50W wireless charging pads, a 66W wired charging port, and a temperature-controlled compartment that can produce ice within 15 minutes and features silver-ion antibacterial technology.

The powertrain is a fully self-developed super plug-in hybrid system built on a 5C native architecture. It employs a P1+P3+P4 three-motor layout with a dual-gear DHT transmission and standard all-wheel drive. This setup prioritizes pure electric driving in urban conditions while allowing direct engine drive on highways. The 1.5T hybrid system delivers a combined 385 kW of power and 740 Nm of peak torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, with a respectable 5.4-second time even when the battery is depleted. CLTC-rated pure electric range reaches 215 km, extending to a combined range of 1,360 km. Fuel consumption is remarkably low at 0.61 liters per 100 km in daily use and 6.05 liters per 100 km in hybrid mode. The 5C fast-charging capability allows a 30% to 80% charge in just 15 minutes, complemented by 6 kW vehicle-to-load power export and compatibility with 92-octane or higher gasoline.

Intelligence represents a key upgrade for the XT5 PHEV. All trims come standard with LiDAR and the Momenta R7 world model-based assisted driving system. The manufacturer emphasizes that this system is production-ready, requiring no future OTA updates to activate. It handles a broad range of scenarios, from urban roads to unpaved paths, mountain passes, and even rural routes with limited map data. The system features cloud-based adaptive cruise control for heavy traffic, proactive obstacle avoidance for construction zones and sudden lane changes, and can navigate extremely narrow passages with just 20 cm of clearance on one side. It maintains stable cruising even in remote areas without phone signals or navigation data. Parking assistance includes autonomous entry into both standard and mechanical spaces, a track-back reverse function supporting up to 150 meters for dead ends, and memory parking for frequently used spots.

The XT5 PHEV continues with the upgraded Road-Sensing Electric Hummingbird chassis. The RTD electronic damping suspension has evolved to a second-generation predictive version, using front sensors to detect speed bumps, manhole covers, and potholes 20 meters ahead. Scanning at 500 times per second, it adjusts damping in real time to mitigate up to 60% of road impact. Braking employs six-piston Brembo calipers shared with the Escalade, now featuring a comfort braking mode. The front-rear dual-motor AWD responds four times faster than traditional mechanical systems, enhancing traction on wet, snowy, and muddy surfaces.
