Stock Track | Bloom Energy Plummets 6.54% Intraday as Profit-Taking Intensifies Ahead of Quarterly Earnings

Stock Track
07/28

Bloom Energy Corp shares plummeted 6.54% during intraday trading on Tuesday, giving back a significant portion of the gains from the prior session as investors rushed to lock in profits ahead of the company's highly anticipated quarterly earnings release.

The sharp decline reflects intensifying bull-bear divergence and short-term profit-taking pressure as the earnings window approaches, with the company scheduled to report its quarterly results after today's market close. The stock had previously rallied on a series of positive catalysts, including Brookfield expanding its AI infrastructure partnership with Bloom Energy to a massive $25 billion scale — a fivefold increase in construction and financing — as well as a $1.7 billion investment by the Industrial Development Fund and Oaktree Capital for Nebius AI infrastructure expansion. UBS maintained its buy rating and $350 price target, arguing that market concerns over scandium supply constraints have been overstated.

Despite the constructive long-term outlook from analysts, market participants are adopting a cautious, wait-and-see stance as the earnings report approaches, with some opting to reduce risk and secure recent gains, weighing heavily on the stock in early trading.
