Hong Kong's cloud computing sector experienced a broad rally. As of the latest update, KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896) rose 6.13% to HK$8.31. GDS-SW (09698) increased by 5.86% to HK$44.46. BIDU-SW (09888) gained 3.99% to HK$130.4. BABA-W (09988) was up 3.51% to HK$135.8.

The surge follows news that Doubao's AppStore page was updated on May 4th, indicating the app will launch a paid subscription version offering additional value-added services beyond its free tier to cater to diverse user needs.

In related developments, Alibaba Cloud issued three product price increase notices within four days in mid-April. These adjustments affected certain model unit services on its large model platform, Bailian, DDoS protection products, and the free API quota for DataWorks, which now supports pay-as-you-go billing. Tencent Cloud implemented price hikes twice within a single month, and Baidu Intelligent Cloud has also raised prices for its AI computing power products.

CSC Financial pointed out that Doubao's move into subscription models signals an acceleration in the commercialization of AI for consumer applications in China. Kaiyuan Securities added that the rise of domestic models and the explosion of applications like Agents are expected to continue driving demand for computing power cloud services, computing power leasing, and AIDC. The firm recommends monitoring companies that are actively expanding in these areas and beginning to demonstrate high growth.
