A pair of slope collapses occurred on August 23 in Fengshan Town, Fengqing County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, resulting in four people being reported missing.

In response, the Ministry of Natural Resources activated a Level Ⅳ geological disaster defense alert for Yunnan at 2:00 PM on the same day and dispatched a working group to the site to guide rescue and relief operations.

The ministry has instructed the Yunnan Provincial Department of Natural Resources to immediately send an expert team to the affected area, providing technical support for search and rescue efforts and disaster response, while also urging authorities to conduct thorough inspections, monitoring, and early warning systems to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Additionally, the China Geological Survey and the Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center under the Ministry of Natural Resources have been tasked with strengthening expert coordination, organizational efforts, and consultation to ensure comprehensive technical assistance is provided.
