Honda China sold 25,052 vehicles in July, marking a 44.1% decline compared to the same period last year, according to a report from Sina Finance on August 7.

For the first seven months of 2024, Honda China reported cumulative sales of 230,870 vehicles, down 35.9% from the previous year.

In a related development, Japanese media outlet Nikkei reported that F-TECH, a supplier of automotive chassis components, announced on August 3 that it would cut 500 jobs across its main production bases in China, roughly half of its total workforce. The report attributed the layoffs to declining factory utilization rates, driven by the sluggish sales performance of its key client, Honda, in the Chinese market.

As previously reported, Honda China's June sales totaled 32,474 units, a 44.5% year-on-year decrease, while the first-half cumulative figure reached 205,818 vehicles, falling 34.7% from the same period in 2023.
