CALB (03931) Rises Nearly 4% as 51GWh Battery Base Project Breaks Ground in Xinyang, Henan; Targeting Production Start in October

Shares of CALB (03931) climbed nearly 4%, with a gain of 2.49% to HK$30.5 at the time of writing, generating a turnover of HK$85.608 million. The uptick follows news that CALB has broken ground on a new 51GWh battery production base in Xinyang, Henan province. The project is part of a broader initiative that includes six synchronized launches, such as the CALB Xinyang base, an electronic information industrial park, and an energy storage innovation equipment manufacturing industrial park, representing a total investment of RMB 12.725 billion. Specifically, the Xinyang base project itself commands an investment of RMB 9.63 billion, covering an area of approximately 607 mu. Production at the facility is scheduled to commence in October of this year, and upon reaching full capacity in January 2028, it is projected to generate an annual output value of RMB 12 billion. Public information indicates that the company has already established multiple industrial bases across China, forming industrial clusters in the Yangtze River Delta, southwestern China, central China, and the Greater Bay Area, with planned production capacity for 2025 exceeding 500GWh.
