From January to September this year, Shaanxi Province's online fruit sales reached 16.119 billion yuan, marking a 7.57% year-on-year increase and securing the third position nationally. The fruit industry continues to demonstrate steady growth in e-commerce sales.
Fresh fruit remains the dominant category, accounting for 13.754 billion yuan in online retail sales, up 7.16% year-on-year and representing 85.33% of total sales. Processed fruit products saw a stronger growth rate of 10.05%, reaching 2.365 billion yuan, outpacing fresh fruit by 2.89 percentage points and indicating promising market potential.
Nationally, Shaanxi ranks behind only Shandong and Guangdong in online fruit sales, maintaining its leading position with 16.119 billion yuan in revenue. This success is attributed to the coordinated development of regional public brands and market branding.
Within the province, Weinan, Xianyang, and Yan'an serve as the core contributors. Weinan leads with 3.996 billion yuan in online sales, driven by large-scale cultivation of crisp pears, grapes, and winter jujubes, along with a well-established e-commerce system. Xianyang and Yan'an follow closely with 3.251 billion yuan and 3.160 billion yuan, respectively. Together, these three cities account for 64.56% of the province's total sales.
Xi'an, Yulin, and Ankang recorded high growth rates of 17.59%, 15.61%, and 13.75%, respectively, achieving double-digit expansion.
In terms of product categories, Shaanxi apples and kiwifruit remain highly popular. Apple sales reached 3.106 billion yuan, up 11.13% year-on-year, while kiwifruit sales totaled 1.906 billion yuan, growing by 9.16%.
Brand development has also seen significant progress. By the end of September, Shaanxi had 66 regional public fruit brands, five more than the previous year, generating 11.403 billion yuan in online sales.
Additionally, cross-border e-commerce for Shaanxi fruits maintained strong momentum, with online sales reaching 115 million yuan, up 18.22% year-on-year—significantly higher than domestic sales growth. Apples, pears, and kiwifruit are the top-selling export categories, with Thailand, Vietnam, and Russia emerging as key markets, reflecting Shaanxi's expanding influence in Belt and Road Initiative countries.
