A female resident in Wuhan, Zhang Ting (pseudonym), tearfully sought help from reporters on June 11, stating that she and her daughter have been subjected to prolonged harassment from a stranger, who was later identified as a security guard in their residential complex. It was also discovered that several other female residents in the complex have been similarly harassed. The security team leader for the property management company, Hui Zhi Mei, stated that they have reported the incident to the police, revoked the involved guard's access to the complex, and assured that he would no longer cause trouble for residents. In the afternoon of the 11th, the man in question was taken away by police for investigation.

Zhang Ting explained that her husband travels for work irregularly and her daughter is preparing for her high school entrance exams this year. In May, someone anonymously ordered milk tea for her, which she refused. Subsequently, she began receiving text messages from anonymous numbers. After informing her husband, he sent a warning text to the sender, but calls went unanswered. "He knew my name, my apartment number, and even the name of my home Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, there would be sudden knocks on the door late at night, but when I checked, no one was there," Zhang Ting said. The ordeal left her too afraid to sleep, prompting her to keep a wooden stick behind her door for protection.

After sharing her experience in the residents' group chat, Zhang Ting was surprised to learn that two other female residents reported similar harassment.

Zhang Ting recalled that her daughter had previously mentioned a 18-year-old security guard in the complex who had confessed his feelings to her. "At the time, I thought it was just youthful impulsiveness and didn't want to make a big deal out of it and potentially cost him his job. Plus, my daughter is very disciplined and focused on her exams. I thought once she finished her exams and moved into high school dormitories, it wouldn't be an issue, so I didn't investigate further."

"She doesn't check her phone often, so some messages were unread. When I saw them, I was devastated," Zhang Ting stated. She discovered that the guard, who claimed to be 18, had been sending messages to her daughter since early April, proposing a relationship and suggesting they use matching profile pictures. After her daughter refused, he responded with messages like "I'll wait for you in the future, it'll be fine once you're an adult."

Tracing her daughter's social media accounts, Zhang Ting found a suspicious commenting account. Looking back through its history, she found a post from April 6th stating: "I have a bold idea, I'm going to add her mom." By comparing information, Zhang Ting realized the person harassing them was a specific security guard in the complex surnamed Li. "I often see him when entering or leaving the complex. When we confronted the property management, we learned he is actually thirty years old and had been concealing his identity while harassing people."

A reporter joined a small WeChat group allegedly created by Li, where Li admitted to sending messages to Zhang Ting's daughter. He claimed the phone number involved was shared by him and two friends. In the group, Li made mocking comments about Zhang Ting and reiterated the "shared number" claim.

On the morning of the 11th, the reporter contacted the complex's security team leader, who confirmed: "This incident did occur, and the property management has reported it to the police." The team leader stated that the guard in question had been employed for over six months, passed the pre-employment screening with no criminal record, and usually appeared honest and reliable, making his actions unexpected.

In the afternoon of the 11th, the man involved was taken away by police for investigation.
