At the 2026 Yabuli Forum Innovation Annual Meeting held in Shanghai on July 3rd and 4th, the theme of the event was "Innovation Drives, Intelligence Powers the Future—The 15th Five-Year Plan Blueprint and Corporate Opportunities."
During the Greater Health Forum, Xue Min, Chairman of United Imaging Group, commented on the current state of the medical industry in capital markets, noting its recent lackluster performance with significant capital outflows.
"However, I would like to take this opportunity to say that we should still have faith in the medical industry. It is a sector well worth deep cultivation, and its future holds great promise," he stated.
Discussing artificial intelligence, Xue highlighted that AI is driving transformation across countless industries, not just healthcare. All sectors are being impacted as AI reshapes entire industries. Medical equipment, processes, and systems are all experiencing the transformative impact of AI, which presents a significant opportunity.
He pointed out that China's development of medical AI has its own unique characteristics and possesses numerous favorable conditions. China's large population and vast number of medical institutions have resulted in the accumulation of massive amounts of medical data. Furthermore, the domestic medical system is relatively comprehensive, encompassing top-tier national hospitals, comprehensive hospitals, and various other institutions of different scales, from large to small and grassroots hospitals, each with distinct roles.
Additionally, China demonstrates strong capabilities in the practical implementation and application of AI within the medical field. On a global scale, China's medical AI applications are positioned within the top tier. "This is not about general large models, but rather scenario-specific, application-oriented models," he clarified.
