From August 8th to 11th, a major international skills exchange event for the Hairdressing category of the 48th WorldSkills Competition was held in Chengdu, bringing together experts and young talents from seven countries and regions. The event aimed to build a high-level platform for skill-sharing and mutual learning within the global hairdressing community.

Organized by CHINA EAST EDU (00667.HK) and hosted by Chengdu Oumanti Technical School, the event served as a critical pre-competition warm-up ahead of the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai this September. Key figures such as Jizheng Long, the chief expert of the Hairdressing project, and Nie Feng, the head coach, attended the exchange. Participants from China, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, along with Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, and Macau, gathered in Chengdu to compete.

During the three-day international competition, Li Xin, the official Chinese candidate for the Hairdressing category trained at Chengdu Oumanti Technical School, competed alongside top talents from various countries. The event was structured as a rigorous, high-level skills showcase, adhering strictly to official WorldSkills standards, equipment, and rules.

The competition featured seven modules—including two live models and five mannequin heads—covering areas such as men's commercial hairstyles and beard design, men's fashion hairstyles, women's long hair techniques, and women's magazine-style hair extensions. Over 19 hours of intensive competition, the assessment tested not only professional skills but also time management, standardized execution, and adaptability under pressure.

Beyond the competition, the exchange included in-depth discussions on industry trends, technological innovation, and talent development. Experts and participants shared insights on implementing WorldSkills technical standards and fostering a skilled workforce, aiming to transform competition results into practical teaching and industry advancements. This event highlighted the spirit of young, skilled professionals and promoted international collaboration in hairdressing education and practice.
