Insurance Stocks Enter Peak Dividend Payout Season; Three A-List Insurers Have Distributed, With RMB 12.8 Billion More on the Way

Since June, listed insurance companies have begun implementing their 2025 annual dividend distribution plans. According to statistics, three out of the five A-share listed insurers have already paid their 2025 annual cash dividends, with the total A-share cash payout amounting to RMB 47.186 billion.

Specifically, China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (SH601628) distributed cash dividends totaling approximately RMB 17.468 billion. China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. paid out cash dividends of about RMB 11.063 billion, while Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. (SH601318) distributed cash dividends totaling roughly RMB 18.655 billion.

It is noteworthy that dividend payouts for insurance stocks generally show an upward trend. Data indicates that, including interim dividends already distributed, the five A-share listed insurers plan to pay total cash dividends of approximately RMB 102.394 billion for 2025. This represents an increase of about RMB 11.605 billion, or roughly 12.78%, compared to 2024.

On June 2nd, Ping An Insurance announced a cash dividend of RMB 1.75 per share (before tax), totaling approximately RMB 31.688 billion. The A-share portion of this payout was about RMB 18.655 billion. The equity registration date was June 9th, with the cash dividend payment date being June 10th.

On July 2nd, China Life Insurance announced a cash dividend of RMB 0.618 per share (before tax), totaling approximately RMB 17.468 billion (before tax). The equity registration date was July 8th, with the payment date set for July 9th.

Additionally, China Life Insurance disclosed its solvency data. As of December 31, 2025, the company's core solvency adequacy ratio was 128.77%, and its comprehensive solvency adequacy ratio was 174.01%. This profit distribution is estimated to reduce the solvency adequacy ratio by approximately 2.90 percentage points. Post-distribution, the company's solvency ratios are expected to remain at relatively high levels, meeting regulatory requirements.

On July 8th, China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. (SH601601) announced a cash dividend of RMB 1.15 per share (before tax), totaling approximately RMB 11.063 billion. The equity registration date is July 16th, with the cash dividend payment scheduled for July 17th.

It has been noted that two other listed insurers have combined annual cash dividends of RMB 12.8 billion yet to be distributed.

Previously, an announcement from New China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (SH601336) indicated a proposed final cash dividend for 2025 of RMB 2.06 per share (before tax), totaling approximately RMB 6.426 billion (before tax). The total cash dividends for 2025, including the interim dividend already paid, would amount to about RMB 8.516 billion (before tax).

An announcement from The People's Insurance Company (Group) of China Ltd. (SH601319) showed a proposed final cash dividend for 2025 of RMB 1.45 per every 10 shares (before tax), totaling approximately RMB 6.412 billion. The total cash dividends for 2025, including the interim dividend, would be about RMB 9.729 billion, representing 20.9% of the net profit attributable to the parent company's shareholders for the year.
