The 2026 "Consumer Collaboration Month" launch ceremony in Qingdao kicked off on the morning of September 5 at Taidong Third Road Pedestrian Street, jointly hosted by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Shibei District Government.

Marking the 30th anniversary of east-west collaboration this year, the month-long series of activities will run through the end of September, channeling new momentum into collaborative development through fresh achievements in consumer support. Under the theme "Mountains and Seas United in Heart, Consumer Support for Farmers' Livelihoods," the event showcased over 300 types of premium specialty agricultural products from four provinces and seven cities, including Dingxi and Longnan in Gansu, Yiling District in Yichang, Hubei, Anshun in Guizhou, Heze and Boxing in Binzhou, Shandong, as well as Qingdao itself.

During the opening ceremony, nine Qingdao-based enterprises signed agricultural procurement agreements with partner regions, with intended contract values surpassing 26 million yuan. The event featured seven major exhibition zones and 50 booths, displaying an impressive array of specialty goods. Among the highlights were Longnan olive oil and Sichuan pepper, Dingxi wide noodles and traditional Chinese herbs, Yiling tea products and air-dried chicken, Anshun prickly pear juice and intangible cultural heritage batik, Heze small-mill sesame oil and ancient-method incense blends, Boxing sea duck eggs and handwoven cloth, alongside Qingdao's Wanggezhuang steamed buns. These agricultural products and handicrafts drew crowds of consumers eager to sample and purchase.

More than 20 varieties of premium teas from Longnan in Gansu, Yichang in Hubei, Anshun in Guizhou, and Laoshan in Qingdao competed side by side, each showcasing its unique character while allowing residents to appreciate the diverse regional tea cultures. "At this expo, we brought our latest innovations, including fresh lily juice drinks, Lily Yi Pi, lily white fungus and lotus seed soup, and sulfur-free dried Lanzhou lilies," said Shan Wenrui, marketing director of Lintao Hengdeyuan Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. from Dingxi, Gansu. "Many residents showed strong interest in our products and proactively added our WeChat to facilitate future online purchases."

Consumer support for agricultural products serves as a vital tool for advancing normalized assistance, consolidating poverty alleviation achievements, and driving rural revitalization. During the "Consumer Collaboration Month," various districts and municipal departments in Qingdao will intensify efforts to promote and sell partner regions' agricultural products in Shandong, launch the "Golden Autumn Action" for consumer support, and organize series of production-marketing connection events such as "Gansu Flavors Enter Shandong" and "Gansu Flavors Go Global" to smooth collaboration sales channels. They will also encourage large shopping malls, wholesale markets, and e-commerce platforms to establish supply bases and direct procurement bases with agricultural cooperatives in supported regions, leveraging online and offline exhibition platforms and internet-plus channels to highlight the distinctive features of local green, organic, and geographical indication products through comprehensive, multi-angle promotional campaigns.

Additionally, Qingdao will capitalize on its sea-rail intermodal transport at Qingdao Port and air freight advantages at the international airport to help premium agricultural products from partner regions cross mountains and seas, reaching broader markets.
