A significant distributed solar photovoltaic EPC project along the Dejiang to Yuqing Expressway has been recognized with the 2026 High-Quality Project Award from China Urban-Rural Holdings Group.

Notably, the Sinan Stone Forest Service Area within the project has been designated as a "Zero-Carbon Expressway Service Area (Five-Star Rating)". This achievement represents a key milestone for the contractor, CCCC First Highway Engineering Bureau Electrification Company, in its deep commitment to the integration of transportation infrastructure and energy systems. The project serves as an exemplary model for the green, low-carbon transformation of expressways and for the broader development of transport-energy integration.

The Deyu Expressway solar project spans a total route length of 104 kilometers. It utilizes 15 underutilized sites along the route, including toll stations, service areas, tunnels, and parking areas, to install photovoltaic equipment. The total installed capacity is 3.7 megawatts. The system is connected to the grid at a voltage level of 10 kV/0.4 kV and operates on a "self-generation and self-consumption, surplus electricity fed into the grid" model.

To address challenges such as the project's scattered locations, high safety risks associated with work on the expressway, and the complexities of cross-regional coordination, the project team implemented detailed control measures.

In terms of safety management, a zonal safety responsibility system was enforced, and a strict protection plan for expressway construction work was meticulously followed, resulting in zero safety incidents throughout the entire construction process.

For construction organization, the team employed parallel construction across multiple work fronts and utilized prefabricated component installation techniques. This approach ensured the project was connected to the grid at full capacity on schedule.

Regarding quality control, a combination of full inspection and random sampling was applied to critical processes, including foundation installation for supports, photovoltaic module mounting, and electrical wiring. This rigorous process guaranteed the equipment's power generation efficiency met the required standards.

Environmentally, the project adhered to a low-carbon construction philosophy from start to finish, strictly controlling construction disturbances to minimize the impact on the surrounding ecological environment along the route.

The electricity generated by the project is prioritized for the expressway's own operational facilities, with any surplus power fed into the public grid. This effectively reduces the operational electricity costs for the expressway while contributing to energy conservation and emissions reduction.

This award validates that the project's construction quality, safety management, and green building outcomes have met high-quality engineering standards. It explores a viable pathway for the synergistic development of infrastructure and clean energy, providing practical experience that can be replicated and scaled for the widespread development of expressway solar power within the industry.

Moving forward, the company's transport-energy integration construction team will use this award as a catalyst to strengthen refined on-site management, continuously expand new energy development scenarios along road corridors, support the green transformation of regional energy structures, and contribute to the high-quality economic development of local areas.
