Chaoju Eye Care Holdings Limited on 23 July 2026 subscribed, through its wholly owned subsidiary Chaoju Eye Care (HK) Company Limited, to a USD16.00 million principal-guaranteed structured deposit offered by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. The new investment follows a USD31.80 million placement with the same bank in June 2026, bringing the group’s total exposure to USD47.80 million.

The latest product—“USD Structured Deposit Linked to 10Y CGB Yield”—runs from 23 July 2026 to 23 July 2027. While the principal is protected, the interest payout is variable: 4.05% plus 0.10% multiplied by the ratio of days during the interest period when the reference rate (10-year China Government Bond yield, as published by China Central Depository & Clearing) is below 0.00%.

Management stated the placement utilises surplus operating cash, separate from funds raised in the company’s global offering. The objective is to optimise treasury returns, as projected yields exceed those of standard PRC bank deposits, while maintaining liquidity through a one-year tenor. Internal controls are in place to monitor the investment’s risk and ensure no adverse impact on working capital.

Under Hong Kong Listing Rule 14.22, the June and July subscriptions are aggregated and treated as a single transaction with JPMorgan Chase Bank. The combined size exceeds 5% but remains below 25% of the applicable percentage ratios, classifying it as a discloseable transaction requiring announcement but not shareholder approval.

Chaoju Eye Care operates 32 ophthalmic hospitals and 32 optical centres across seven provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in Mainland China. JPMorgan Chase Bank, acting through its Hong Kong branch, is an independent third party to the company.
