On February 20, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, many companies in Zhongshan with full order books resumed operations ahead of schedule, striving to fulfill orders and expand market share for a strong start to the year. At 3:14 p.m., three buses carrying new employees arrived at the factory of TCL Air Conditioner (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. These were the first dedicated return-to-work buses in Guangdong Province this spring, transporting over 100 students majoring in electromechanics from the "order-based class" at Wuzhou Vocational College in Guangxi. Their arrival effectively filled the current labor gap at TCL, providing robust workforce support for the company’s first-quarter order surge.

In recent years, TCL has demonstrated strong growth momentum. Entering 2026, the company saw a 60% year-on-year increase in first-quarter orders, prompting early production line startup and full-capacity operation to ensure timely delivery. The arrival of these skilled students is not merely a labor supply measure but reflects a collaborative effort between the government, vocational schools, and enterprises to cultivate tailored technical talent. Statistics show that through cross-provincial "order-based classes" and practical training bases, Zhongshan has trained and supplied over 3,000 highly skilled workers to local enterprises.

Notably, in January, Zhongshan took the lead in the province by introducing six measures to stabilize employment and promote hiring. These policies include subsidies covering 30% to 50% of chartered bus expenses for companies transporting employees across provinces or cities, with a maximum subsidy of 50,000 yuan per enterprise. This financial support aims to help companies maintain workforce stability and resume production efficiently. Preliminary estimates indicate that, encouraged by these policies, Zhongshan plans to provide 36 free chartered bus services.

In the coming days, Zhongshan’s human resources department will launch four dedicated recruitment routes reaching across cities and provinces, including Guangxi, Guizhou, and Hunan. These initiatives will integrate job demand analysis, skill training, and employment recommendations. Additionally, over 100 online and offline recruitment events will be held across Zhongshan’s towns and subdistricts, featuring live-streamed job promotions, online recruitment platforms, and company visits, all designed to provide solid human resources support for the city’s first-quarter economic boost.
