In the Chinese new energy vehicle market of 2026, competition remains fierce and industry growth is moderating. Against this backdrop, LEAPMOTOR has delivered a standout performance report. In the first half of the year, the company's cumulative sales exceeded 350,000 units, leading the sales charts for new automakers for multiple consecutive months.

In a recent in-depth interview, the founder, Chairman, and CEO of LEAPMOTOR, Zhu Jiangming, shared his perspectives on the evolving automotive landscape.

Zhu Jiangming stated, "I believe the trend shows that cars will increasingly become a means of transportation in the future, rather than an item for the wealthy to flaunt."

He elaborated on this view, noting, "China already has over 400 million vehicles, meaning essentially every household has one. This indicates that people no longer primarily see car ownership as a symbol of status or a tool for showing off wealth; it is more of a practical tool for getting around. Therefore, its attribute is shifting more towards being a utility, rather than a project for maintaining face."

Zhu Jiangming concluded, "Consequently, we believe the major future trend is towards vehicles that are more widespread, more mass-market, that bring greater convenience and happiness to users, and that allow people to buy better products for less money."
