HYDRO DATA, a hydrogen power and data center infrastructure company under U Power, recently participated in the Data Center Asia 2026 exhibition held in Singapore. This event, a key gathering for the data center industry across the Asia-Pacific region, featured over 200 exhibitors, attracted more than 8,000 professional visitors, and hosted over 60 industry forums focusing on critical areas such as AI computing power, cloud computing, and energy technology.

U Power's founder, chairman, and HYDRO DATA's CEO delivered a keynote speech titled "Hydrogen-Powered AI Data Centers: A New Business Paradigm for Economic Viability, Environmental Sustainability, and Long-Term Resilience." He also participated in a high-level roundtable discussion on "Empowering AI Data Centers with Advanced Power and Energy Solutions," engaging with numerous industry experts to explore the development trends of energy infrastructure for data centers in the AI era.

Industry experts at the event noted that the explosive growth in demand for AI training and inference is driving a continuous increase in power requirements for data centers due to high-density computing clusters. Traditional power grids are facing growing pressure regarding supply capacity, construction timelines, and carbon emission management, making energy a critical factor limiting the expansion of AI data centers.

In response to this trend, U Power established HYDRO DATA in May 2026 with support from industry partners and strategic investment from the Charoen Pokphand Group. The company focuses on developing hydrogen power infrastructure solutions for next-generation AI data centers. Since its inception, the company has secured a letter of intent for a data center energy infrastructure project in Rayong Province, Thailand. The project has a planned total IT load capacity of 100MW, with a 3MW demonstration phase currently underway.

HYDRO DATA utilizes advanced proton exchange membrane hydrogen fuel cell technology, providing stable, continuous, and low-carbon power supply to data centers through modular deployment. Compared to traditional power generation solutions, this technology offers advantages such as shorter deployment cycles, higher energy conversion efficiency, and lower carbon emissions.
