Shenzhen Energy Group Co.,Ltd. (000027.SZ) has announced that its controlled entity, Shenergy Ansogo Power (Ghana) Co., Ltd., intends to invest in the construction of the 50MW Tamale photovoltaic power generation project in Ghana.

The total investment for the project is estimated at $34 million. A portion of this, $12.5 million, will be funded from the company's own capital. The remaining investment is planned to be covered by an interest-bearing loan provided to the Ghanaian entity by Gentek Holding Limited, utilizing Gentek's own retained earnings.

To facilitate this, the company plans to inject $7.5 million in capital into Shenergy (Hong Kong) International Co., Ltd. Subsequently, Shenergy Hong Kong and the China-Africa Development Fund Co., Ltd. intend to increase their capital contributions to Gentek by $7.5 million and $5 million respectively, corresponding to their 60% and 40% equity stakes.

The project will be situated in the Central Gonja district of Ghana's Savannah region. It will have a construction scale of 50 megawatts and is planned to utilize 540-watt peak bifacial monocrystalline silicon 1500-volt photovoltaic modules paired with 300-kilowatt string inverters.

The facility will include supporting grid-connection infrastructure such as main transformers, a 161-kilovolt outdoor distribution system, 34.5-kilovolt switchgear, and SVG complete sets for voltage regulation. It is designed to connect to the existing 161-kilovolt transmission system via a single tap-off line.

This initiative marks the company's first overseas photovoltaic project. Positioned as a key project under the company's strategic plan for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, it represents an international extension of the company's core domestic business and is expected to expand the company's overseas investment footprint.
