China Chengtong (217) Announces Major Transactions with Southern Airlines, Xinyin, COSCO, Huadian Datong, Keqiao, Jinshi, and Haifa Baocheng

China Chengtong Development Group Limited (stock code: 217) disclosed multiple major transactions involving Southern Airlines, Xinyin, COSCO, Huadian Datong, Keqiao, Jinshi, and Haifa Baocheng. These transactions comprise assignments of certain leasing rights, sale-and-leaseback arrangements, and leased-assets transfers. According to the announcement, they qualify as major transactions under Hong Kong’s Listing Rules and have obtained written shareholder approval from China Chengtong Hong Kong Company Limited without convening a general meeting.

In one assignment, Chengtong Financial Leasing made a payment of approximately 245.46 million RMB to Southern Airlines for designated lease rights. A further 237.59 million RMB was paid to Xinyin in relation to COSCO’s container leasing arrangement. Separately, a sale-and-leaseback transaction with Huadian Datong involved 30.00 million RMB, while another arrangement with Keqiao stood at 300.00 million RMB. In addition, a leased-assets transfer with Jinshi totaled about 225.64 million RMB, and a similar transfer with Haifa Baocheng amounted to 400.00 million RMB. The announcement indicates that each transaction is expected to generate fee-based or interest income.

The Board stated that these transactions align with the Group’s leasing strategy, providing potential stable returns. All arrangements have been categorized as major transactions, and no extraordinary general meeting is required since the controlling shareholder has already provided the necessary written consent.
