Nanjing Xuanwu Unveils Central Asia Legal Services Catalog, Offering a Clear Roadmap for Businesses Expanding Overseas

When companies venture into the Central Asian market, who should they turn to for legal issues, and what services are available? On September 22, Xuanwu District in Nanjing provided a definitive answer with the official release of the "Xuanwu District Central Asia Legal Services Catalog" at the Jiangsu Central Asia Center. This catalog gives businesses a one-stop reference for high-frequency legal needs when going global, allowing them to navigate services with ease.

In recent years, as the China-Central Asia Trade Facilitation Cooperation Platform has continuously upgraded its service capabilities, economic and trade exchanges between Xuanwu District and the five Central Asian countries have grown increasingly close. More and more companies are setting sail overseas, driving rising demand for legal compliance and risk prevention in cross-border trade and overseas project collaborations.

To precisely address these legal needs, the Xuanwu District Justice Bureau, in collaboration with the Nanjing Lawyers Association Xuanwu Branch, established a dedicated legal service team for Central Asia. The team visited foreign-trade enterprises to collect real legal demands and sorted through various business application scenarios, ultimately compiling the service catalog based on these findings.

Lawyers Engage in Exchange and Discussion

The catalog covers four major areas: cross-border investment and mergers and acquisitions, cross-border trade, cross-border dispute resolution, and corporate compliance with comprehensive legal services. It systematically organizes legal service products, clearly defines service institutions and corresponding target countries, and transforms lawyers' professional expertise into tangible, actionable legal service offerings. This shift moves foreign-related legal services from "companies searching everywhere" to "following a clear checklist."

As part of the Jinling Sailing·"Pomegranate" Global Service Hub (POM) series of events, this activity was co-hosted by the Xuanwu District Justice Bureau and Hongshan Subdistrict Office, with the Nanjing Lawyers Association Xuanwu Branch serving as the organizer. The head of the Xuanwu District Justice Bureau attended the event and delivered a speech, while the head of Hongshan Subdistrict Office introduced the POM series arrangements. The China-Central Asia Trade Facilitation Cooperation Platform also gave a special presentation.

During the event, team lawyers delivered special presentations on the primary legal risks facing Chinese enterprises going global and the cross-border labor mobility governance practices for Chinese workers in Central Asia. A notary also explained foreign-related notarization services. Additionally, lawyers from the Foreign Affairs Special Committee of the Nanjing Lawyers Association Xuanwu Branch engaged in face-to-face discussions with corporate representatives, addressing legal issues encountered in cross-border operations on the spot.

Moving forward, the district justice bureau will use this as a model to continuously expand the geographic scope and business areas of foreign-related legal services. By offering richer service products and smoother service channels, it aims to optimize the law-based business environment, support the development of the "Considered" industrial system, and safeguard Xuanwu enterprises as they venture overseas with steady and far-reaching progress.
